From Field to Forever: Auburn Athletes Marry in the Heart of Alabama

MFEO – a phrase I never heard until I watched the movie Sleepless in Seattle. It’s one of those phrases that you hear and internally shrug your shoulders thinking, “isn’t that clever, but a starry-eyed notion.” There really can’t be two people on the planet who were only meant to meet each other and no one else, right? As cynical as anyone wants to be, we all believe this in some form.

When you meet Emmalyne and Trey, you instinctively know their love for each other is something special – something that you don’t find every day. It is not forced, it is not presumptuous; it is authentic, it is true. They exist with one another with such ease and trust in God’s plan for everything that is to come in their life. You might even say they are MFEO…Made For Each Other.

Growing up just down the road from Auburn, Emmalyne and Trey have grown up tiger fans and were sure to pursue higher education there. After their high school years, they both became revered members in the athletic community – Trey joined the Auburn Tigers as a walk-on quarterback and Emmalyne became an Auburn University cheerleader in 2019.

Their wedding was full of unique touches and was even held at the bride’s grandparent’s home, filled with so many happy memories. The property was transformed into an elevated reception space with a welcoming dance floor, savory food stations and plenty of bars for signature beverages chosen by the couple. Each of these extraordinary design and heirloom details made this southern spring wedding truly, one-of-a-kind!

Emmalyne wore the most perfect dress – it was her mother’s that she wore on her own wedding day and throughout their childhood. And the engagement ring that Trey proposed with is over a century old! The homage and attention to this detail set the tone for this incredibly special day.

The side yard transformed into a master space for Jennie Weller’s team to gorgeously set up dinner for the guests coming in and find a seat in the front yard.
They left it to the pros to find and create a custom bar in the backyard overlooking the string quartet at the back of the house along with plenty of seating under the canopy of trees decorated with custom Elegant Events furniture.
Along the pathway were tables at the ready while a gourmet flatbread station provided the best finger foods.
And just beyond one of the four separate bars, was the clear top tent set for dancing with plenty of florals and soft seating.

The scale of this event was remarkable as it came together. A huge ‘thank you’ to Mary Sanders with Mary Me Brides and Evan Cooper with Evan & Co. for expertly designing and executing this wedding day that will go down in the books as one of the very best!
