Madison and David’s wedding day forecast started off as showing full rain, but the clouds gave way to a gorgeous sunny day at Lake Martin! I’m calling their day perfectly imperfect because this couple had to overcome multiple obstacles before and during the wedding day. One of the most notable dilemmas took place only ten minutes after they said their vows, while they were enjoying their first meal as husband and wife (scroll down to see the photos and read the story!) Regardless of everything that happened, I have never seen two people handle problems with such grace and humility. Their perspective on each issue was incredibly sophisticated and made me wonder where they both found the patience and composure to deal with them. I am so proud to have been a small part of this wedding day with this amazing couple.
Madison’s dress was the dress all little girls dream of. The train was an absolute statement and her veil extended even beyond. David sported a crisp white dinner jacket that made for the perfect compliment to Madison’s gorgeous custom gown.
The couple exchanged vows in the outdoor chapel in front of close family and friends and enjoyed the rest of the night with signature cocktails and dancing underneath the stars.
To future couples out there – take a small lesson from Madison and David – laugh through the moments together that are minor challenges in your wedding planning or wedding day. The memories you make together as you put small problems in perspective will be remembered forever and absolutely make for fun wedding photos!

Madison and David had one of the most stressful scenarios happen to them on their wedding day. Moments after they said “I do,” their airline notified them that their flight for the next day to their honeymoon resort was cancelled.
.
This was a connecting flight so there were so many things to work out over the phone with zero help from the airline (who shall remain nameless). The newlyweds were trying to work all of this out in between their ceremony, sunset portraits and reception entrance.
.
Let me tell you, I would have been a mess compared to these two. Madison just laughed as she sipped her champagne and said “this kind of stuff happens to me all the time.”
.
These next two photos were the moments that had to be captured. I’ve never seen a bride look so flawless while dealing with such a stressful situation! As they passed the phone back and forth to make arrangements for new flights, we took photos in the vineyard and laughed about the hilarity of what just happened to them.
.
Moral of the story…there isn’t really one. Future couples – know that things happen in life and especially on your wedding day. But try to be a little like Madison and David – laugh through it all because it sure makes for amazing photos that you will cherish!
